Check if you're accessing the right SPSS server URL for your trial version. The trial login page is often different than the main SPSS login page.

@Gowtham, how can I find the right SPSS server. I downloaded v.29, but there was no server information included.
    thanks

The trial limitations are enforced through the local installed software itself - requiring login credentials would suggest something different like a web application or remote server.

My recommendation would be to simply start the SPSS program directly from your desktop or Start Menu. When you first launch SPSS, you should see the main data editor and analysis interface open up ready for use.

There should be no intermediary login screens or credential boxes. Those would imply you are trying to access SPSS through a website or remote system, which is not how the desktop software functions.

Please let me know if SPSS opens up properly when directly launched from your programs menu. Or if you still encounter unnecessary credential screens, we can troubleshoot further why those may be appearing incorrectly. But with a local trial version there should definitely be no login process.

Here is an attempt  to straighten out confusion I perceive in this thread...

@Panagiota Varela - The "Server Login" screen you are seeing is telling you that the Statistics frontend and Statistics backend cannot communicate with one another.  See this blog about IBM SPSS Statistics and Statistics Subscription: Failure to launch and specifically this technote.

This behavior was also seen quite frequently by macOS Sonoma users who for one reason or another were not able to successfully apply the Interim Fix.  Please see the Problems applying the IBM SPSS Statistics Interim Fix for macOS 14.0 (Sonoma) blog and the associated movies for insight on applying the interim fix.

@MOHAMMED JUNNEDI - This blank login screen is controlled by the 'jcef Helper' process

Make sure that this process is allowed to access the outside world.  See the technote above.

@Gowtham D and @Michael Muller -   The IBM SPSS Statistics Trial is licensed in the exact same way as IBM SPSS Statistics Subscription, albeit with a shorter license period. The licensing for both Trial and Subscription is cloud-based.  Thus it makes sense that you would be prompted to login with your IBMid.

See the technote above.  Here is the Subscription license server used. It requires no intervention from you other than to allow communication from your Statistics Subscription client to this server.  Most of all, the above URL has nothing to do with the "Server Login" screen shown at the beginning of this sub-thread.

I hope this helps you all.
