IBM TechXchange Conference October 21-24, 2024 Mandalay Bay - Las Vegas
The watsonx.ai Product Team is pleased to announce that you can now use custom foundation models in watsonx.ai on IBM Cloud (SaaS). You can import custom foundation models to the watsonx.ai and use them in the Prompt Lab or API. This completes a major milestone to provide the same capability to our SaaS clients as that of our on-prem software clients, for which this feature was available in March 2024.
Importing a custom foundation model provides greater flexibility in how you can select and use the right model to fit your generative AI use case. For instance, you might require support for a language that is not available in the watsonx.ai foundation model library. Or, you might have invested resources to fine-tune a model to optimize it for your industry or business domain. Now, you can import foundation models that best suit your needs.
While this is an important feature for providing you more flexibility, it comes with a set of requirements based on which you can import the models. For more information, see the watsonx.ai documentation.
