IBM Champions Spotlight: Shoichiro Sakaigawa

By Namitha K posted 12 days ago

Meet  the IBM Champion Shoichiro Sakaigawa, who has completed 7-year milestone as a Champion in 2024!  Currently he is working as the President
at Pumpkin Heads Co.,Ltd. With more than 18 years of experience in the IT industry, his skillset includes a wide range of topics, but not limited to AI, Power solutions, Data Science, and Storage. His favourite products are IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service and Watson; “I've been using the manager Kubernetes since the early days and had a lot of experience. Among the customers, those who use a bare metal server to interact with the Kubernetes system, use it very conveniently. Watson is also one of the favorite technologies that uses Assistant / Speech to Text / Text to Speech to improve TJBot zero's experience and get familiar with many generations”.

“IBM's AI technology has given me dreams and hopes since I was a child. I remember being excited when DeepBlue first beat a chess champion, which made me interested in AI and robots. Now with watsonx, many AI use cases are delivering value to the society, and this is very inspiring. I am currently researching the collaboration between watsonx and TJBot zero

Sakaigawa has made many significant contributions to the Community through blogs, speaking at the events and other community engagements. From his extensive list of professional achievements, Sakaigawa would like to share one particular accomplishment- “With IBM JAPAN volunteers and IBM Cloud Users Group community members, we have been able to introduce AI and robots to various generations with a learning kit using Raspberry Pi + Node-Red + Watson called TJBot zero”.

Check out TJBot zero community team’s hands-on assembly workshops happening every two months

He would like to highlight the benefits of the Champions Community to those who are interested in IBM Champions program, “Many IBM Champions are involved in IBM products and related OpenSource projects. The opportunity for learning and sharing is vast here. I believe that a small contribution can lead to greater results. IBM Champions community is an example for that”.
If he weren’t a part of the technology world, he would like to live in a ranch with a dog!
