This experience allows you to try out watsonx Code Assistant for Red Hat Ansible Lightspeed for 90 days without thehassle, making it easy to get started and experience the benefits of AI-powered automation.

Get started quicker

The new quick-start trial experience is designed to give you a hands-on experience with watsonx Code Assistant for Red Hat Ansible Lightspeed's Essentials plan features. To access this plan, you'll need an active Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) license. If you don't have an AAP license, don't worry! You can sign up for a free 60-day trial that includes Ansible Lightspeed.

Features Included in the Plan

With the quick-start trial plan, you'll get access to all Essentials features of watsonx Code Assistant for Red Hat Ansible Lightspeed, including:

  1. Playbook generation: With playbook generation, users can leverage a guided experience to generate and explain Ansible content from single task prompts. The experience collects user prompts and then returns the outline of the Ansible playbook with an explanation offering a simplified approach to creating and even understanding the generated Ansible content. 

  2. Playbook explanation: The playbook explanation capability allows automation content creators’ full visibility into the explanations of the playbook. This increases platform engineering, and developer productivity, and makes it more approachable for new Ansible learners. This new feature, along with playbook generation, will be available on IBM Cloud first, followed by its availability on on-premises.

  3. Single-task and multi-task content generation: Generate tasks for a playbook or role from natural language task description in single- or multi-task

  4. Code similarity: Gain transparency into potential sources used in training data for content recommendations, including author and license.

How to Access the New Plan

1. Download and install the Ansible VS Code Extension: If you're not already using Visual Studio Code (VS Code) for Ansible, download and install the extension by Red Hat.

2. Connect to Ansible Lightspeed Login: In the bottom-left navigation in the Ansible VS Code extension, select "Connect" under “Ansible Lightspeed Login.” You'll be directed to the Ansible Lightspeed portal.

3. Don't have a Red Hat user login? Contact your Ansible Automation Platform administrator to request access.

4. Agree to terms and conditions: Select "Start trial" after agreeing to the terms and conditions, indicating your marketing preferences.

5. Confirm your activated subscription: In VS Code, confirm your activated subscription in the left-hand navigation.
