The myriad sources, formats, and locations of enterprise data has long been a source of frustration for organizations. The Big Data revolution of the last decade has only added rocket fuel to this problem. To tackle this issue requires a platform that makes connecting to data, relating disparate data, and providing that data using well understood methods a reality. This ability needs to work exactly the same way regardless of format (structured and unstructured), source type (RDBMS, noSQL, CoS, App, Doc, RealTime, etc), and location (cloud, on premise, data service). Without this capability, the journey to AI is impossible
