Holds an MBA and an Electronics degree, Steve started in IT around Monitoring tools at Cox Communication & BellSouth. He supported various tools including Netcool, Remedy, NervCenter, HP OpenView, and Concord Ehealth.

For the past 18 years, Steve has focused on Technical Pre-sales and Sales with messaging around ITSM and AIOps. Currently Americas Sales Leader for Instana.



Paul Jasek - Sr Solution Architect

A Rutgers College graduate, Paul started in IT a while back as a developer/systems analyst with companies like RCA, GE, Chubb, Dow Jones and Dun & Bradstreet in various technologies including MVS, COBOL, CICS, LU6.2/APPC, WinNT, OS/2, C++, Smalltalk and Java/J2EE. For the past 20 years, he’s focused on technical pre-sales in the development tools and APM markets (Wily, AppDynamics and IBM/Instana).



Andy Harmon - Americas Application Platform Sales Lead

Andy Harmon is the IBM Application Platform Sales Leader for the Americas. Andy has a demonstrated track record of providing strategic direction and leadership to achieve success in developing internal/external value propositions and engaging in cross-functional communications to build a bridge between IT organizations, business leadership and key stakeholders that translates technology into meaningful business value and business needs. Andy has held multiple roles from developer to architect to program manager and has been involved in the WebSphere brand since its inception. Outside of IBM, Andy is heavily involved in multiple volunteer organizations ranging from Bulldog rescue to National Epilepsy Foundation. When away from the office and volunteer work you will find him weaving his life’s passions around art, martial arts and love of the outdoors into ultimate enjoyment of every second on this planet.


Martin Smithson - Chief Architect- WebSphere Automation

Martin Smithson is the Chief Architect working on the IBM WebSphere Automation product at the IBM Software Lab in Hursley, England.

He has approximately 25 years of experience working in the IT industry, including both software development and technical consultancy roles.
His areas of expertise include the architecture, design and development of microservices architecture based solutions, including the underlying technologies typically used in these solutions, such as Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Liberty, REST APIs, Kafka and MongoDB.


David Salinas - WW Senior Product Manager - WebSphere Automation

David is a Worldwide Senior Product Manager that has recently started on IBM WebSphere Automation. Before this assignment, David was the Product Management team leader for IBM Cloud Pak System and IBM PureApplication. He has extensive knowledge in software, PaaS, security, compliance (including Federal) and hardware. David has his academic background in Computer Science, Mathematics and Political Science. Outside of IBM, David is an avid reader and connoisseur of SciFi. He dabbles in console gaming with side adventures on PC gaming. He is a wander luster at heart with affinity for back country camping (in Yellowstone) and hiking/climbing in nature's secluded sanctuaries. Though a native Texan, he religiously skis in Colorado for a white Xmas.
