    Hi all,

Im working as a Product Responsible for a WebSphere SOA platform.
I have been to Impact 2010 and thought it was very good.

Now im thinking of attending either impact 2012 or the Technical conference in Berlin this october.
Since I have never been on the technical conference I dont know how it is.
Can someone tell me which should be the best for a person like me?

My role includes mostly LCM and to be the techical expert.

Anyone have experience in both of them?

I too attended the 2010 conference and left very disappointed and do not plan to attend another.

I attend for the Technical tracks primarily for WMQ and also on WTX, WMB, and WPG. I have attended the conference since it was originally called the "Transaction and Messaging conference" as well as Impact 2007, 2009, and 2010.

All the Transaction and Messaging conferences were great   Unfortunately I can't say the same for Impact as the best Impact for me was 2009.

I only had a few good 2010 session and of those only 1 good WMQ which was a hands on lab.    This was where I also noticed allot of the WMQ attendees that I enjoyed networking with were not there so that too left a bad impression.   Impact has really become a Management marketing conference in my opinion.  Additionally I know the economy is tough but the Vendor area has also declined significantly which I used to see what was out there to help me support my tools.  A few of our purchases were based from information I obtained at these.

Sorry this is a negative post, but it's hard to justify the expense of this to my manager when I can’t come back educated, energized and looking forward to what's coming from the software I use and support on a daily basis.

    Hi Greg,

I can understand what you mean talking about WMQ. All sessions I attended on that was very disapointing 2010. Although I really enjoyed the WAS part of the sessions and I had that feeling when I came back to work. Full of energy.
Lets hope it will be that way this year as well. And hopefully the WMQ part is a lot better.
But have you attended the Technical Conference in europe?
That was the main question, how the quality of that conference is?
It feels like Impact is the conference IBM is putting their money on...

I would hope that the conference is the same on both sides of the ocean.  Unfortunatly I can only speak for the one in North America.

    Sorry for the confusion.
