  • 1.  IBM Installation Manager repository for WASx not connected

    Hello,

    I am trying to install WebSphere in my IBM laptop (Win10),  but when I run the installation manage, I got "repository not connected " error (screen shot below)...any help would be much appreciated...

    Hello Prabakar,
    looks like this is the root case:

    I.e. you've configured an installation repository which is not a repository! Where are the binary packaged for WebSphere? Locally? Or do you want to download the from passport advantage? I'd suggest you remove that repo (as it seems to be IIMs installation location) and instead of that add the location of the WAS binaries for installation.

    Hello Hermann,

    Thank you so much for the solution, after removed the config file  (Preference->Repositories) and used the passport advantage , it works I can able to download WAS.

    Hello Hermann,

    I have installed IBM Installation Manager v 1.9.14, it helps me to install IBM WebSphere Application Server v 9.0 and related tools, but I do not have any option to install WAS 8, eg WAS-8.5.5.11.
    My question is how can I install WAS-8.5.5.11? Do I need to install different version of IBMIM?

    Hello Prabakar,
    no, you definitely don't need another version of IIM. If you are entitled you should be able to select WAS v8.5 to install from the repository. Are you sure you did select the correct repo?

    NO, I just selected the "passport advantage" from the preference page, and provided my "ibmid/password" to download from the remote repo... but I did not mention anywhere the repo, may be I do not understand how to download from the repo option (how to select the repo). please share with me doc link or simple user guide...thanks...
