     I have a query related to usage of Application Server Template in Websphere Application Server.

     I have a requiremant where in I want to prepare an Application Server Template in one environment (say, Development). Once the template is prepared with all the required configurations in it, I want to export that Application Server Template and import into other environments(say SIT,Production,etc..). Hopefully it works, as the Application Server Template does not have any hostname information as per my knowledge.

     Is the above feature already present in the existing version of Websphere Application Server? Or By any chance, can we expect in the next coming versions of Websphere Application Server? Please share your valuable suggestions in this regard.

  Take a look to exportServer and importServer of ConfigArchiveOperation

ConfigArchiveOperations command group for the AdminTask object using wsadmin scripting

  The commands and parameters in the ConfigArchiveOperations group can be used to export or import server configurations and entire cell configurations.

     Export and Import of server configurations is working through wsadmin scripting using Jython. Once again thank you for your valuable suggestions!!
