I am putting a test automation class together and one of the subjects it ETM Test Suites an how to use them as a test execution tool.  One of the execution options is Parallel and the other is Sequential.  I have always used the Sequential option so I don't have a clue why you would use the parallel option and what kind of testing parallel would support.  Can someone describe why and how you would run test scripts in a test suite in parallel mode?

    Thanks

The parallel mode for Test Suite execution can be used to run several automated independent test cases at the same time and usually using several different test execution adapters. One example would be if you have to run thousands of automated independent tests in a short period of time every day, then you would want to setup multiple identical test machines each with a test adapter and then use a test suite to coordinate the execution of all those tests with a test suite in parallel mode. IBM Engineering Test Management has been tested with up to 500 command line adapters used in parallel, please see: https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Main/ETMAdapterDeploymentGuide
