Corrupted filename of vcruntime140_1.dll in Semeru Windows zip vcrunt~1.dll

    Looks like in IBM Semeru Runtime Open Edition for Windows there is corrupted file name of java\jre\bin\vcrunt~1.dll I guess it should be vcruntime140_1.dll.

    Checked even most recent build 8.0.345.1 OpenJDK 8u345-b01 Windows x64

    When on system there is not available Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable containg above dll trying to run the Java ends with:

    > java -version
    Error: loading: <JRE PATH>\bin\msvcp140.dll
    Error: loading: <JRE PATH>\bin\server\jvm.dll

    Anyone is experiencing the same? Can this be fixed in Semeru zips?

    Small correction to the proper file name - it is vcruntime140.dll. It can be also seen in file meta data.

    Multiple are affected. At the time of posting, I've checked the Lastest and it got the same problem. Looks like this is something in build process. DLL is signed by IBM, so maybe the file name has been altered once uploaded to repo and is included with broken name constantly.

    Signing by IBM was done on ‎Wednesday, ‎August ‎17, ‎2022 4:53:50 PM. Checked the Release and looks like affected are 8.0.345.0 and 8.0.345.1

    I confirm I see the vcrunt~1.dll file in the last jdk8 release (jdk 8u345b01 openj9-0.33.1).
    I see a proper vcruntime140_1.dll file in our Release Candidate build for the October release that is soon to be published (8u352b08 openj9-0.35.0).

    I will keep an eye on it for the final release build before we publish.

    It's a problem introduced in the 0.33 release by upgrading the compiler to Visual Studio 2017. It was reported earlier and is fixed in the 0.35 release via https://github.com/ibmruntimes/openj9-openjdk-jdk8/pull/615.

    There has been a new release of Semeru Open Edition for jdk8, 11 and 17.
