Java, Semeru Runtimes and Runtimes for Business

We are pleased to announce the general availability of IBM Semeru Runtime, Open Edition v8.0.412, v11.0.23, v17.0.11 and v21.0.3. This release is based on Eclipse OpenJ9 0.44 and OpenJDK jdk8u412-b08, jdk-11.0.23+9, jdk-17.0.11+9 and jdk-21.0.3+9 respectively. The binaries are available on our standard distribution sites as on May 27, 2024. With these releases, IBM Semeru Open Edition contains the latest CPU and security fixes from the OpenJDK Apr’24 updates.

IBM Semeru Runtimes Open Edition 2Q24 Quarterly update contains the following key updates:

• FIPS 140-3 Technology Preview is now available with IBM Semeru Runtimes v11 and v21 releases (starting with v17.0.11 and v21.0.3.0 respectively). Read more about this 'evaluation purpose only' technology preview of FIPS 140-3 in IBM Semeru Runtimes here.
