We are pleased to announce the general availability of IBM Semeru Runtime, Open Edition v8.0.402, v11.0.22, v17.0.10 and v21.0.2. This release is based on Eclipse OpenJ9 0.43 and OpenJDK jdk8u402-b06, jdk-11.0.22+7, jdk-17.0.10+7 and jdk-21.0.2+13 respectively. The binaries are available on our standard distribution sites as on Feb 07, 2024. With these releases, IBM Semeru Open Edition contains the latest CPU and security fixes from the OpenJDK Jan’24 updates.

IBM Semeru Runtimes Open Edition 1Q24 Quarterly update contains the following key updates:

• FIPS 140-3 Technology Preview is now available with IBM Semeru Runtimes v17 (starting with v17.0.10). Read more about this 'evaluation purpose only' technology preview of FIPS 140-3 in IBM Semeru Runtimes 17 here.
• FIPS 140-2 support is now extended to include ppcle and s390x platforms (RHEL). Read more about it here.
