Application Runtimes

We are pleased to announce the general availability of IBM Semeru Runtime Certified Edition for z/OS 11.0.21.0 and 17.0.9.0. These releases contain OpenJDK 11.0.21+b09 and 17.0.9+b09 respectively (Oct'23 CPU Updates). The binaries have been made available on our standard distribution sites as on Dec 07, 2023.

IBM Semeru Runtime Certified Edition for z/OS 4Q23 updates contain the following in addition to the security fixes, bug fixes and other improvements:

11.0.21.0:

• Support is added for additional digest HASH algorithms for RSA OAEP in IBMJCECCA provider
• Methods to authenticate and change password by using APPLID added to Java Security SAF interface
• This release also contains features from the latest release of the Eclipse OpenJ9 project, as listed in the Version 0.41 OpenJ9 user documentation.

17.0.9.0:

• zEnterprise Data Compression
• z/OS 3.1 Support
