In January 2021 IBM launched WebSphere Hybrid Edition that optimizes the licensing of WebSphere runtimes to maximize flexibility, as well as packaging the latest modernization tools to help you optimize deployment of applications for hybrid cloud.  If you haven’t had a chance to look into the details of WebSphere Hybrid Edition you can find out more from this introductory blog post that provides an overview.

Since the launch of WebSphere Hybrid Edition, we have delivered a number of short Webinars that provide a summary of the product and focus on some of the specific benefits.  The webinars are available as replays, covering the following topics:

A key step in the adoption of Hybrid Cloud is being able transition existing application workloads into container-based deployments.  To help with this critical step, WebSphere Hybrid Edition includes modernization tooling in the form of Transformation Advisor and Mono2Micro.

If you would like to see for yourself how easy it is to move an existing application running on traditional WebSphere into a container running WebSphere Liberty, then download the Transformation Advisor trial.  Follow these instructions to get started with the Transformation Advisor trial.

There is also an interactive demo on the Mono2Micro tool that you can take a look at here: https://ibm.biz/mono2micro-trial  This shows the results of running the Mono2Micro tool against an existing application. The trial explains the different views available within the Mono2Micro tool and how it can be used to create microservices from an existing monolithic applications.
