WebSphere Liberty for z/OS

07/18/13 07:42 AM

1) What does Liberty on z/OS look like? The answer is that, by default, it looks and feels just like Liberty on all other platforms. Anything you can do on Liberty for other platforms can be done on Liberty for z/OS in exactly the same way, with exactly the same configuration, as other platforms. The key here is that with the traditional WAS profile, the basic architecture of WAS is very different on distributed versus z/OS, and so customers are probably expecting Liberty for z/OS to look and feel very different from Liberty on distributed. This is not the case. 2) How does Liberty for z/OS take advantage of the z/OS operating system? The answer is that by default, all z/OS qualities of service are disabled. Qualities of service are taken advantage of by enabling additional features.
