Troubleshoot Datalink Classic system errors

If you encounter a system error with your Datalink Classic on-premise agent, the following troubleshooting steps may help:



Datalink Engine does not start

Symptoms

Datalink Engine does not start.

What's going on

There is an issue with the Java Run-time Environment (JRE).

Solution

  1. Restart the ApptioDataLinkService.
  2. Verify that Java is installed and updated. See Install the Java Run-time Environment (JRE).

Datalink Agent encounters an issue connecting to manager.

Symptoms

Your Datalink connection may not be properly configured.

What's going on

There is an issue with the Java Run-time Environment (JRE).

Solution

  1. Verify that the agent is configured with the correct manager URL and has the "https" prefix.
  2. Verify that Port 443 is accessible to the manager using telnet. See Troubleshooting: How to Ensure Port 443 and Port 80 are listening.
