DSM Base and Enterprise Level Function

DataServer Manager (DSM) is smart enough to recognize the edition of Db2 it is accessing and turn on and off capabilities as appropriate. Whether you have a Db2 Advanced Edition or Db2 Enterprise or Workgroup, DSM will ensure you have access to the capabilities you are entitled to without having to install license keys.

If you are using Db2 Version 10.5.0.5 or higher, there is no need to apply license activation kits to turn on DSM Enterprise Features. You can see in the Settings->Manage Connections page whether your database has been recognized a eligible for Enterprise features. 


The attached file summarizes the difference between Base and Enterprise features. Db2 Advanced Editions can use DSM Enterprise Features. Db2 Workgroup and Enterprise can use DSM Base Features. Db2 Warehouse, DB2 Warehouse on Cloud, Db2 On Cloud and IBM Integrated Analytics System databases can use Enterprise features customized for their environment.
