Cloud Storage

Actions
- Review if there are non critical applications consuming more expensive storage.
- Discuss findings with Cloud Owner
Data
REQUIRED
Environment Tag
Application Tag
Application Master Data.Business Criticality
Application Master Data.Application Name
Multi Cloud Connector and Cloud Components:
CTF Amazon Web Services/CTF Azure
CTF Cloud Service
CTF Public Cloud MTD
Export Tag Mapping Reference Data
Add Application Criticality
Add Storage Tier
Reimport Tag Mapping Reference Data
Create Tablematch for Application Criticality
Example attached, Create a table and choose the option to have it based on an existing table and choose the Application Master. Add a step for hide and rename to hide all columns except the Application Name and Business Criticality. Rename Application Name to the name of the tag column you have for Application.
Import Tablematch for Storage Tier
Import the attached table that Includes a header for Storage Tier and Item. Add additional tiers as needed.
Map Columns
If using Azure, go to Azure EA Bill Raw, if using AWS go to AWS Cost and Usage Report Raw
Checkout the table and go to the Cloud Mapping Step
If Application and Environment have not yet been mapped, chose them from the Destination column using Direct Mapping in the Mapping Rule and choosing the tag column you created under Rule Inputs
Select Application Criticality from the destination column, chose Table Match, select Tablematch for Application Criticality
Select Storage Tier from the destination column, chose Table Match, select Tablematch for Storage Tier
Append Columns
If using AWS go to AWS Cost and Usage Report Master Data, if using Azure go to Azure EA Bill Master Data
Check out the table and go to the Append Step
Edit either Azure Bill Raw or AWS Cost and Usage Report Raw and select additional source columns
Select Application Criticality and Storage Tier
Go to Service Provider Master and check out the table
Go to the Append step and edit either AWS Cost and Usage Report Master Data or Azure EA Bill Master Data
Select Application Criticality and Storage Tier
Customize the report
(left) Project explorer > Reports >Monthly TCO
Check out the report
Slicer
(top) Ribbon > Report > Compact Slicer.
Select the newly added Slicer
(left) Project explorer > Tables >Cloud Services>Storage Tier: Drag to Slice By area in the Slicer Configuration
(top) Ribbon > Compact Slicer>Change the selection from Regular to Small
Right Click the slicer and choose Position and Size: X=465, Y=0, Width=140, Height=70
(top) Ribbon > Report > Compact Slicer.
