The acquisition of DataStax brings Astra Streaming, a fully managed, cloud-native event streaming service built on Apache Pulsar, into IBM’s watsonx.data portfolio of messaging and streaming products. Astra Streaming expands IBM’s ability to deliver real-time data movement and event processing across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. 

Astra Streaming unifies pub/sub messaging, queuing, and streaming in a single service. With serverless scaling, protocol compatibility for low-touch migrations, and geo-replication for business continuity, it helps clients modernize messaging and build event-driven applications that react instantly to business events. 

Current Astra Streaming customers will experience no change in the support or service they receive today. IBM remains committed to ensuring a smooth transition and continued reliability as Astra Streaming becomes part of the IBM watsonx.data  portfolio.
