Graphical Scheduling and Graphical Scheduling Large projects - Initial Dates

Wed August 03, 2022 09:19 AM

Hi All,  as part of a common point we are working with customers over the Graphical Scheduling and Graphical Scheduling Large Projects application around the way the application handles Dates at the First Load and situations when we have Children Records, so I set up some simple data we can go over and look for differences:

Work Order with Target Dates and Duration
Task with 4 hours and Target dates
  • Top Level Records will use the same logic to populate the Dates, basic it will look for the work Order record, if has Schedule Dates use (If just Start use + Duration), if just Target Dates use (If just Targe Start use + Duration), so the dates will be loaded as default inside of Graphical Scheduling and Graphical Scheduling Large Projects. If no date it will Get Current Date (Future) if in the past Start date of the Scheduler + Duration to setup;
GS:
Graphical Scheduling - Work Order with Target Dates and DurationGSLP:

  • Top Level Records with the Interruptible ON that will always use the Load with additional of Fit the Work inside of the Shift for the Day. Same for Graphical Scheduling and Scheduling Large Projects;
  • Now in the Hierarchy will be the difference once by default in Graphical Scheduling we load the Children Dates and Roll Up that date to the Parent Level and leave the Duration as is at the Work Order Tracking side. Inside of Graphical Scheduling - Large Projects as a paging Application we load all the records but we don't do the Roll Up of date from Children to Parent and that will happen as the children's records change (Move edit) or using the Recalculate Summary action Start and End dates + Duration will be moved to the Parent Level, and that will be consistency except with Duration at the Graphical Scheduling application.
GS:
Graphical Scheduling - Work Order with Task Roll Dates.

GSLP:
Graphical Scheduling Large Projects - Work Order with Task until any change

  • The same rule will be applied with Interruptible records ON once that will cause a move to Shift period and Dates will be recalculated, Parent will just be affected in GSLP once the Record move or the More Action for Recalculate get trigger.
GSLP After Change:
Graphical Scheduling Large Projects - Work Order with Task after Change

GSLP after Recalculate Action:
Graphical Scheduling Large Projects - Work Order with Task after Recalculate Summary Start/End Dates.

Thanks, and let me know if other comments and questions about GS and GSLP main differences.
