The Challenge

Utility providers manage extremely high volumes of critical information related to metering, billing, grid operations and regulatory compliance. This data must be exchanged securely and reliably between core systems, distributed applications and an extended ecosystem of partners and service providers.

In this context, the customer was looking for a solution capable of integrating data across different platforms while running natively on IBM z/OS, already in place as a strategic component of its IT infrastructure. The solution needed to guarantee security, scalability and availability, without introducing risks or changes to existing core applications.

At the same time, the organization required specialized expertise to support the ongoing management of the mainframe environment, ensuring business continuity and long-term operational stability.

The Solution

The customer selected Primeur’s data integration solution, deployed on IBM zSystems, to enable secure and efficient data exchange across its IT ecosystem.

Thanks to the deployment of the same solution also in distributed environment, the customer, the customer was able to integrate data from applications running in the “distributed world” and from partners, maintaining the same user experience for configuring and managing the platform.

In parallel, Primeur, in partnership with IBM, provided specialized support services for the mainframe environment. These services ensured continuous monitoring, optimization of workloads and reliable operation of critical systems, allowing the customer to focus on its core business while maintaining full control over its IT infrastructure.

Results

By adopting Primeur’s solution on IBM zSystems, the utility company combined the flexibility of a modern data integration approach with the unique strengths of the mainframe in terms of security, resilience and scalable performance.
