Datadrop SFTP IP Address Update
As part of ongoing infrastructure improvements to Datadrop, we are updating the IP addresses associated with Datadrop SFTP services.
This update only affects customers who explicitly restrict or configure Datadrop SFTP access by IP address through firewall allowlists, destination NAT rules, proxy rules, egress policies, or other IP-based security controls.
What is changing?
New IP addresses are being assigned to Datadrop SFTP servers across supported regions.
Customers who manage IP-based restrictions for Datadrop SFTP should add the new IP addresses for their applicable region to their network configuration before the scheduled maintenance to help maintain uninterrupted connectivity.
Customers who connect using the Datadrop regional hostname and do not enforce IP-based restrictions are not expected to be impacted. However, customers who connect directly to a Datadrop SFTP IP address (rather than the regional hostname) will need to update their connection configuration to use the new IP address after the migration, regardless of whether IP-based security controls are in place.
What do I need to do?
If your organization restricts Datadrop SFTP traffic by destination IP address:
- Identify any firewall allowlists, NAT rules, proxy rules, network access controls, or other security policies that reference Datadrop SFTP IP addresses.
- Add the new Datadrop SFTP IP addresses for your region before the scheduled maintenance.
- Keep the existing IP addresses in place during the migration.
- After maintenance, verify that your SFTP clients, automations, and data transfer workflows can connect successfully.
- Once the migration is stable and connectivity has been confirmed, remove the previous IP addresses from your network configuration.
Customers using scripts, schedulers, CI/CD pipelines, managed file transfer tools, or other automated environments should also confirm that those systems can access the new Datadrop SFTP IP addresses.
How do I know if I am impacted?
You may be impacted if your environment uses IP-based controls or your integrations connect using an IP address instead of the Datadrop regional hostname.
If your organization does not restrict or configure Datadrop SFTP access by IP address, no action is required.
Additional Resources and Next Steps
