Participants can earn an industry badge at the end of this two day track by participating in all 11 sessions and passing all associated quizzes. Please bring your own laptop for this session. The lab will be conducted on your own machine and not a provided machine.
People coming into the workforce have Python skills. They do not have JCL skills. Wouldn't it be great to provide a z/OS environment that would allow them to manage the system using Python instead of learning JCL. They can do this today using Python and Z Open Automation Utilities. Of course that means we might have to convert our existing JCL into Python routines for them to use. This session will step you through changing JCL into a Python Program. No Python experience necessary. Come learn how the latest generation of Sysprogs can create Python routines to do things that have traditionally been only in JCL. Earn an industry recognized badge! z/OS Academy is a 2 day program running in the SHARE track at TechXchange. Attendees will have the opportunity to earn a badge at the end of two days by passing the mini quizzes throughout the 2 days and passing a final quiz at the end of Day 2.
