ApptioOne - Plan

Interactivity
Pivot table This gives you the ability to summarize and reorganize selected dimensions of data to obtain desired perspectives and deeper insights by transforming your data within a table visualization from a row-based to a column-based format. Not supported Available 12.9.2+ Available
Report level filter (dimension-based) This gives you the ability to set dimension-based filters at the report level, impacting the entire report, including all visualizations and pages. Report viewers will be able to interact with the filter, selecting or clearing values, providing a more dynamic and customizable report viewing experience. Available Available 12.11.4+ Available
Data version (e.g., Cloudability View, ApptioOne Plan) This gives you the ability to filter an entire report using a Cloudability View and/or ApptioOne Plan, which are filters applied to the underlying data. Available Not supported Available
Table hierarchies & subtotals This gives you the ability to display hierarchies and subtotals within a table visualization, which allows you to easily view and understand the total value for a specified set of data, while having the flexibility of understanding the lower levels of that data. Available Not supported Not supported
Drill with time context This gives you the ability to add drill-down capabilities to a visualization with trended data, allowing you to analyze specific time periods in greater detail. For instance, when reviewing a trended stacked column chart of spend by region over the last year, you can drill into a particular month to understand the underlying factors contributing to the cost. Not supported Available Available
Calculated Metrics
Compare a single metric over time This gives you the ability to calculate the change of a metric between time periods (e.g., month-over-month OpEx). Available Available 12.9.2+ Available
Compare two metrics This gives you the ability to calculate the difference between a metric and a target metric (e.g., OpEx to budget variance). Available Available 12.9.2+ Not supported
Calculate unit cost rate This gives you the ability to divide the total cost by number of units (e.g., cost per service). Available Available 12.9.2+ Not supported
Variance between two plans This gives you the ability to calculate the change of a metric between two plans for the selected time period. Not supported Not supported Available
Calculate ratio of two metrics This gives you the ability to divide two metrics with like types (e.g., ratio of virtual machine per physical machine). Available Available 12.9.2+ Not supported
Custom formula This gives you the ability to create a metric formula from scratch, utilizing values, metrics, parentheses, and basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication). This is particularly helpful for generating unique metrics and exploring unit economic scenarios. Available Available 12.9.2+ Not supported
Calendar Settings
“Previous Period” and “Previous Year: Same Period” data selection This gives you the ability to compare the current period in your visualization to the previous corresponding period. For example, if comparing the current period of This Month to Previous Period, you will see last month’s data. If comparing This Month to Previous Year: Same Period, you will see the data for the same month last year. Not supported Available Available
Custom date range This gives you the ability to choose your preferred time range when creating a visualization, so you can tailor your analysis and reports to specific time periods that align with your needs. When “rolling” is enabled, customer date range will operate as a rolling start and end date. Available Available 12.10.5+ Available
Custom start date to date This also gives you the ability to choose your preferred time range when creating a visualization, so you can tailor your analysis and reports to specific time periods that align with your needs. When “rolling” is enabled, custom start date to date will operate as a fixed start dart with a rolling end date. Available Not supported Not supported
Compare to date range This gives you the ability to compare two time periods to see how a given metric has changed over the specified periods. Available Available 12.8.1+ Available
View by date granularity This gives you the ability to select the granularity of time measurement for visualizations, ranging from intervals of days, months, quarters, etc. Not supported Available 12.8.1+ Available
Fiscal calendars This gives you the ability to divide the year into periods for financial reporting and budgeting. Apptio BI accurately aligns fiscal periods with corresponding calendar months. Not supported Available (defined in user’s calendar definition in ApptioOne - Cost, not Fiscal Calendar Service) Available (defined in Fiscal Calendar Service)
Filtering
Compound filtering This gives you the ability to combine multiple filter conditions using AND and OR operators to create more complex and precise data queries. This empowers you to refine your data selection criteria and customize the filtering conditions to better align with your specific needs. Available Available 12.11.4+ Not supported
Filtering on calculated metric This gives you the ability to apply filters to your calculated metric. Available Available 12.9.6+ Available
Filter by date This gives you the ability to set filter rules on a visualization based on date and time dimensions, such as Invoice Date and Contract End Date. Available Available Available
“In” and “not in” operator for filters This gives you the ability to set filters using the In and Not In operation types, which allows you to select one or more values to include or exclude in a visualization. Available Available Available
"Is null” and “is not null” operator for filters This gives you the ability to filter out data that is null or has no assigned value. Available Available 12.11.4+ Not supported
Pre-aggregation filtering This gives you the ability to apply filters on all measures. Available Available Available
Post-aggregation filtering This gives you the ability to apply filters on measures that are included in the query. Available Available 12.11.4+ Not supported
Combination of pre- and post-aggregation filtering This gives you the ability to set filters as a combination of pre- and post- aggregation in a single visualization, which provides additional flexibility when setting filters. Available Available 12.11.4+ Not supported
Typeahead assist for filter values This gives you the ability to type and surface a list of possible values based on your search when setting filters, which is helpful for improving productivity and spending less time finding data. Available Available Available
Case insensitive search This gives you the ability to filter values based on case sensitivity, specifying whether upper case and lowercase letters should be treated as distinct (case-sensitive) or equivalent (case-insensitive). This gives you more control over data filtering based on case requirements. Available Not supported Not supported
Visualizations & Customization
Treemap This gives you the ability to visually represent hierarchical data. Treemaps depict both the value of individual data points and the structure of the hierarchy, with nested rectangles proportionally representing data values. Available Not supported Not supported
Net or percent in compare This gives you the ability to display the variance in amount or percent format when comparing data between two date ranges. Available Available Available
Group data in "Other" group This gives you the ability to specify the number of results that you want to display in a visualization and choose to group the remaining data in the “Other” group. This is helpful for viewing and analyzing the most important data, while not losing sight of the overall picture for a specified date range. Available Available Available
Create visualization using only a metric(s) or dimension(s) This gives you the ability to simplify your data visualizations by creating them using only specific metrics or dimensions, tailoring insights to your precise needs. Available Available Available
Miscellaneous
Multi-currency This gives you the ability to utilize any of the available currencies in the multi-currency functionality. In cases where a product does not support multi-currency, the default currency of the product is used. Available Available 12.9.1+ Not supported
