    2024 Releases

      This release introduces a new enhancement for various chart types, which will improve the visibility of chart values.

    • Apptio BI - October 21, 2024

      This release provides a comprehensive overview of financial activity across public cloud marketplaces, including AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI.

    • This release introduced Comma-Separated Values in Filter Input Fields.

      Now when using the "in" or "not in" operations in the visualization editor, you can paste or type multiple values (separated by commas) into Pre-Aggregation and Post-Aggregation filters.

                 This release launched filtering enhancements for Cost Transparency customers using Apptio BI.

                   Enhancements

                  Starting today, you will be able to filter information based on dimensions which were not used during the visualization creation. This enhancement will allow you to further refine results shown on visualizations for better focus on the essential report dimensions. Such capabilities 
                  were already available for Cloudability data source, and the current enhancement brings Cost Transparency data source to parity. This feature will be available for CT version: 12.11.9 and above.

                   This release introduces a new dimension, “Resource Name” in Apptio BI, under the Cloudability Cost & Usage data source for Google Cloud Platform (GCP) customers.

                  This release introduces a new feature which displays % in chart labels for pie and donut charts. This enhancement will contribute to easier understanding of the composition of a variable.

      This release implemented several bug fixes to enhance the reliability and accuracy of your reporting experience in Apptio BI.

    • Apptio BI - July 30, 2024

      This release introduces case-insensitive search across Apptio BI and Removed Report Data Range Confirmation Modal.

    • Apptio BI - July 11, 2024

      This release introduces an improved, and simplified behavior of report-level filters dropdown. The additional dropdown for narrowing the filter list to "selected" or "unselected" has been removed. All selected values are grouped at the top of the list, while unselected values are grouped at the bottom of the dropdown.

    • Apptio BI - April 22, 2024
    • This release introduces a new permission in Frontdoor that allows you to copy collections of reports between different Apptio BI environments using our export and import functionality. The ApptioReportsManagementFeatureFullAccess permission is automatically granted to the Self-Service Reporting Admin role, and administrators can extend this permission to any custom role.

    • This release introduces updates to the Visualization and Insights Editor, which empowers users with more control over data retrieval and visualization rendering. Users now have the ability to manually initiate queries, ensuring the latest data is fetched and displayed accurately in their visualizations.

    • This release introduces a new out-of-the-box Apptio BI Report for Cloudability. It leverages data from the Cloudability Rightsizing, Cost & Usage, and Utilization data sources. You can find the report on the Reports page.

    • This release introduces filtering enhancements for Costing Standard customers on version 12.11.4+ using Apptio BI. Starting today, users can quickly and easily filter out data to get to the most important information. Earlier, Costing Standard users were not able to filter out information is such an effective way.
      Apptio BI - February 26, 2024
    • This release introduces the capability to create visualizations using Cloudability MSP data in Apptio BI. This enhancement empowers Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to construct detailed margin analysis reports and effortlessly monitor their customer base spending trends over time, ultimately improving overall margins. The newly integrated MSP data source combines the existing Cloudability Cost & Usage data source, providing users with a comprehensive overview of their customer portfolio's health at their preferred level of granularity.
      Apptio BI - February 13, 2024
    • This release includes the formatting options for Custom Formula Metric, which will allow to define how the results of the calculation should be displayed. Users will be able to choose between: amounts, numbers, and percentages.
      Apptio BI - January 22, 2024
    • This release adds the ability to allow customers to add a Report Date Range selector at the report level which will determine dates for all the visualizations both already existing and newly created in the report.
      Apptio BI - January 10, 2024
    • This release adds the ability to create visualizations using Cloudability Rightsizing recommendations in Apptio BI. You can view your most recently generated rightsizing recommendations or track and analyze your rightsizing recommendations over time, providing deeper insights in cloud cost optimization and enabling more informed decision-making.

      Apptio BI - November 6, 2023
    • With this enhancement, we are increasing the interactivity of table visualizations by allowing report viewers to filter data in columns. Filtering will be allowed for dimensions (all data sources) and measures under selected data sources supporting post-aggregation processing. It is possible to use the AND and OR operators to further refine returned data and get to the most interesting results.

    • February 18, 2022:  Cost Transparency customers on 12.9.14 and above have a new calculated metric called Custom Formula. Users can now create new metrics with mathematical operators. 
    • February 17, 2022: With this release there is a new permission that allows export to a .csv file
    • February 11, 2022:  This release added a Global Plan Picker. You can now update the plan you're using when viewing a report.
    • January 27, 2022:  You now have the ability to use Cloudability Views in Apptio BI
    • January 21, 2022:  In this release, you can now add report filters for the IT Planning data source
    • January 6, 2022:  This release enables the ability to use report filters with Cloudability data, enhanced filtering for Cloudability and Insights results view

    2021 Releases

    • October 14, 2021:  This release introduces Apptio BI which replaces Self Service Reporting (SSR)
      • Click on Apptio BI instead of SSR in the App Launcher and Frontdoor, to access reporting capabilities.
    • September 30, 2021: Compound filtering. 
      • Compound filtering allows you to use both ANDs and Ors filtering logic together
    • September 2, 2021: New administrative Capabilities - administrators can:
