Mastercard celebrated their first successful global region swap exercise in early 2024 thanks to lessons learned from previous exercises and evolution of teaming and tooling. With a solid Z parallel sysplex environment, we are now collaborating to: 1. Support automated role swaps and run production from either site (with GDPS CA, GDPS MGM 4-site, more) 2. Ensure protection from cyber attacks and data corruption (recommended IBM Cyber Vault and Safeguarded Copy) 3. Increase emphasis on continuous maintenance and hygiene of Z to align with latest best practices and maximize resiliency This session will highlight lessons learned, best practices, historic and future impact of mainframe on Mastercard business and ecosystem, and considerations across regions.
