SoCalGas went through the digital transformation of paper-based processes into the mobile solution for inspection results associated with Assets, Locations, and Work Orders. Through the implementation of IBM Maximo Mobile integrated with Maximo Spatial, users gained the ability to access, update, and report on work orders in real-time, both online and offline, across multiple devices. The project enabled streamlined data collection, improved data quality through validation, and graphical representation of data on maps for enhanced insight. Business benefits included reduced handling time for work orders, elimination of paper processes, and more efficient reporting. The project involved 40+ customization/configuration requirements and an upgrade from Mobile v8.5 to v8.7 mid-project.
