Speakers:
Dr. Angel Diaz, IBM's Vice President of Cloud Architecture & Technology, is a champion of open technologies to reinvent the enterprise. He is leading a technology transformation to drive both IBM & the market toward a Next Generation Enterprise Software Platform to deliver accelerated client value through interoperability & portability, based upon standards & open source at scale. Passionate about the art-of-the-possible, Dr. Diaz leads a global team that works across open source communities, international organizations & standards consortia to foster development of the next generation of open technologies & to help clients realize their potential by innovating upon an open architecture. Additionally, Dr. Diaz’s team works with leading customers on enterprise infrastructure, application architecture/platform & workload optimization.

Gennaro (Jerry) Cuomo holds the title of IBM Fellow. Jerry has spent 18 years at IBM working on advanced technology software, including 9 years at the Thomas J Watson Research Center in New York. He has been an integral part of the WebSphere Application Server engineering team from it's inception in 1997. Jerry is a breakthrough innovator of solutions in the areas of TCP/IP, real-time collaboration software (including the first pilot of Sametime, IBM’s instant messaging software), and high-performance transactional systems. Mr. Cuomo repeatedly demonstrates expertise in identifying and cultivating new capabilities that matter to clients including the introduction of on demand computing via WebSphere XD. Jerry is currently the Chief Technology Officer for the WebSphere Brand and the Director of the WebSphere Technology Institute (WSTI), whose mission is to cultivate the future of WebSphere by identifying and developing advanced technologies. Working closely with IBM Research, WebSphere Partners and customers, Jerry continues to deliver innovations to WebSphere through establishing methodology for engaging open source and leading IBM in a new endeavor focused on dramatic improvements in usability through the creation of middleware appliances. Jerry currently has filed for over 40 US patents and is a Software Group Master Inventor.

Mr. Dave Lindquist, an IBM Fellow and VP, is an IBM CTO responsible for the strategy and architecture of IBM’s Cloud technology and Integrated Service Management solutions. He has more than 25 years of experience as a global technology leader in cloud computing, management systems, web infrastructure, networking, and large systems architecture. Appointed an IBM Fellow in 2007, IBM’s highest technical honor. Dave began his career with IBM in the Server Group, specializing in large-systems architecture, performance and database systems. In 1990 he joined IBM where he has focused on Cloud, Web infrastructure, content delivery networks, mobile and wireless technology, and Internet products. His research has led to 48 patents, recognition as an IBM Master Inventor and election into the IBM Academy of Technology.
