FalconStor® StorSafe® Virtual Tape Library is software that works with backup software or native tools, emulating physical tape drives and libraries while shrinking backup images with advanced compression and deduplication. This session will show how StorSafe VTL can modernize and optimize AIX, IBM i, and Linux environments both on-premises and in IBM Power Virtual Server. Use cases will be explored, including migrating workloads and legacy tapes from on-premises to Power VS, hybrid cloud backup between on-premises and the cloud, backup and restore for Power VS-resident workloads, replication in Power VS to another cloud for disaster recovery, and use of IBM COS for immutable backups for recovery from ransomware. Architectural diagrams for technical understanding will be explained.
