Effectively managing the relationships among engineering data provides huge benefits in the interpretability of systems under design, collaboration among engineers, change management, and automated reporting. However, the cost of creating and maintaining this digital thread can exceed its benefits, especially if the results are not consistently trustworthy. This session will make the case for “open, federated, versioned” being the key properties of an enduring, trustworthy digital thread for complex systems engineering.Key speakers Daniel Moul, Principal Product Manager - IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management, IBMDaniel Moul is the Principal Product Manager for IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management. He was part of the team that brought to life IBM's collaborative engineering foundation more than a decade ago, and more recently, the open, versioned Digital Thread for engineering through OASIS OSLC Configuration Management and Global Configuration Management. He has held various roles in product line management, development program management and project management. Prior to joining IBM, he was the general manager of South Seas Computing in the Fiji Islands.
