Summary

The most advanced and successful Automotive manufacturers rely on model-based systems engineering (MBE) in their journeys towards software-defined vehicles. MBE facilitates the digital thread by linking designs to stakeholder and system requirements, enabling seamless trace chains. It is the foundation for a common systems model, connecting stakeholders and domains.  

Join us for this webinar to learn more about our framework for model-based systems engineering, based on a customizable and layered set of viewpoints with automated transitions and a template methodology, extending OMG SysML v1. By default, the framework comes with three layers: Functional Analysis, Logical Architecture, and Physical Architecture, all implemented in IBM Rhapsody. You will see the hand-off from the Physical Architecture layer to domain-specific engineering, including the actual transfer of E/E-related systems design to the Capital Systems Architect and subsequent processing.

Finally, you will see how the digital thread is completed end-to-end across all engineering domains involved, including integration into AUTOSAR.

Andy Lapping - Technical Specialist - Systems and Software Modeling at SodiusWillert

Andy Lapping is a Technical Fellow at Sodius Willert. With over 25 years of experience in model-based systems and software engineering, Andy is an expert in the application and customization of IBM’s Engineering Lifecycle Management portfolio. He is an official content developer for the OMG SysML Certification examinations, and he holds a BEng Hons degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Prior to joining Sodius Willert (via IBM, Telelogic, and I-Logix), he spent 12 years testing and commissioning safety-critical railway signaling systems. He is an excellent public speaker but also a very modest chap. Seriously - if there was a prize for modesty, he would definitely win it.



Piotr Kisiel - Technical Product Manager for Capital Systems and Software at Siemens

Piotr is a technical product manager for Siemens Capital Systems. Prior to that, he spent almost 10 years with JLR working as a system architect for telematics and connectivity and has worked for various other OEMs as a Software Developer in the telematics domain.
