I'm testing GPFS on lab environment for learning purposes. I have created

the cluster with a system pool of Id zero and successfully

created up to five NSD devices and FS related. Now I'm playing

with the concept of another pools and, AFAIK, new pools are created with the first

FS on such new pool with the mmcrfs command and corresponding stanza file.

However I'm unable to create a new pool. in fact the FS is created in system pool.

I'm using the following stanza file

Hallo Cesar,
please check at first your stanza file. GPFS has five usage designation for defining NSDs. A FS can have 8 Storagepools (1 system and 7 datapools).
Here are the desription:

 dataAndMetadata
                           Indicates that the disk contains both
                           data and metadata. This is the default
                           for disks in the system pool.

                  dataOnly
                           Indicates that the disk contains data
                           and does not contain metadata. This is
                           the default for disks in storage pools
                           other than the system pool.

If you want to define other pool than the systempool you must define NSD as dataOnly. And don't forget after you create the FS a placement policy vor this FS like this at first:
RULE 'default' SET POOL 'data01' 
data01 is here the name of a dataOnly Pool.
