    Hi,

I understand there is a maximum of 8 ports per ISL trunk. I read there is maximum of number of ISL trunk we can have per SAN switch.  Where can I find this maximum of ISL trunk in a switch?  The specs of my model (SAN128B-6) of switch doesn't show this maximum.  My big question is to know if I will be able to create 4 ISL trunks with 8 ports per trunk?  I am still not sure if I will use 8 ports per trunk.

    Thanks

    Hello Bernard,

according to FOS Scalability guide, there is no limit of ISLs per switch, the limit is your port count.

    Thanks Sergei!

I didn't know about this document.  It clears up the subject for me.

For SAN128B-6 I prefer to use Q Flex Ports for trunks. port grouping is important for the trunks.

here's the port groups on your san128b-6

I understand and agree with you about Q-Flex ports for trunks. But we cannot use those ports as we don't have licenses for them.

    Thanks for the information.
