  • 1.  LTO9 overheat?

Hello, I purchased an LTO9 LTO8 in a TS4300, when I use the LTO8 everything is normal, when I use the LTO9 the media and the drive heat up, and it only keeps rewinding the cartridge for a long time, the TS4300 sends an overheating message. What could be what is happening? Is it normal on LTO9?

LTO9 Media needs to be initialized at the very first usage. Initialization starts automatically if a new LTO9 cartridges is load in a LTO9 drive. You can manually start this initializaition via ITDT.

Here is a link that explains the media optimization that Josef described.
