IBM Storage Virtualize (SVC)... best approach for iogrp management

In the environment I currently manage, we have a 4 iogrp SVC cluster, the current approach is to manually attach every new host to a given iogrp, depending on the administrative area that host belongs to. Both zoning, host connection and volume creation is bound to that given iogrp, which over time is leading to load unbalance, but that is the way it has be done here so far. We are getting a new SVC cluster (two iogrps for the time being) which is being set up from scratch (not a replacement for the current cluster), and I am wondering if it wouldn't be more optimal to zone the hosts to all the iogrps, enable also all the iogrps in the host connection, and creating the volumes in "automatic" iogroup mode, leaving the balancing to the SVC... what is your take on this? pros? cons?

    Thanks and regards.
