  • 1.  hdisk busy slow performance

    IBM Power system showing HDISK busy, OS AIX, Running on oracle 11g db.what can be the issue 
    i was monitor logical volume. it not sufficient space available.

    Hi Liyanz,

    I see in the topas output that you have a dac1 device so your disks are LUNs from a DS3K/DS4K/DS5K?

    Check if the cache battery has expired on the storage system. This will show down throughput as it will stop using the cache and write directly to the array.

    Hi Liyanz,

    You replied as a direct message but I am not able to reply to that for some reason. There is no reply button. Only Mark as Read or Delete. Maybe replying to DMs is an achievement I need to unlock.

    I assume you have DS Storage Manager installed for managing the DS4700 in which you can also check the health of the storage system and the status of the cache battery.

    The DS4700 have been out of support for many years now. You need to consider migrating the data to a newer storage.
