Thank you, I have set the correct Safequard policy according to the schedule and it has been run. But when the Policy starts to be executed, the CSM Server automatically cannot connect. Let me ask if Volume Hyperswap when deployed with the CSM Server needs to go through the stage before executing the policy. Hope you can answer.

Not seeing anything in the screen shots that would be wrong....but not seeing any errors either. In CSM open the Console and see if there are any error messages. Also look at the Scheduled Tasks panel and validate that there is a scheduled task for that session and that it is enabled with the correct time.

Thank you, I think I am using SCG 1.0 to deploy on CSM. I am trying to do it to Backup a 40TB volume configured in Hyperswap mode on FS5300. But every time the backup schedule is executed, the CSM server automatically connects and the backup program does not work as I want. I hope you can help me to realize my mistake in the installation process. Here are some images of my deployment.

There are two types of Safeguarded backup solutions on FlashSystem.
SGC 1.0 which is based on FlashCopy technology and requires a policy specified on the FlashSystem system which CSM discovers and automatically creates a CSM SGC session for...
SGC 2.0 which is based on Snapshot technology. The only policy on the FlashSystem is for the internal scheduler. To manage Snapshots from CSM, a Snapshot session will need to be manually created with one or more scheduled tasks in CSM.
Are you referring to SGC 1.0 or 2.0? The first post screen shot showed that you tried to do Snapshot when the volumes still had SGC 1.0 backups...which isn't allowed. But think you understand that now.
The CSM screen shot seems to indicate to me that CSM is not up and running or did not startup correctly. We won't be able to tell why from the screenshot. Try restarting the CSM server....and if the problem persists you'll likely need to open a case.

thank you for your interest in this article, sorry I was a little confused about the Snapshot Policy and Safeguarded Policy. what I'm stuck with here is that when executing Safeguarded Policy, the IBM Copy Service Manager Server lost connection and Volume backup could not work. I don't know why, hope you can help.

Hello Tan,
you might want to look up the highlighted error id CMMVC8846E in IBM Docs.
This article describes what to look at:
CMMVC8846E The command failed because volume groups do not support both Safeguarded and snapshot policies
That said, check for any existing policies and decide to go with either snapshot or safeguarded policies.
