Dear Community Members,
Hope you are all good.
I have an ambiguity regarding storage to storage replication between Newly Announced IBM Flash System 5200 & Legacy IBM Storwize family. I have a customer who has currently running Storwize V7K Gen2 in their environment and purchasing a FlashSystem 5200 at Production Site. The old hardware V7K Gen2 will be moved to the DR Site. Customer is asking whether they both will be able to replicate data in between them or not ?.
Please advise and also please guide that what are the supported storage models for storage to storage replication (Metro Mirroring & Global Mirroring both). Is there any reference link or redbook which explains that.
Early response is highly appreciated.

I agree with Mr. Masteen. This techdoc is talking about compatibility cross reference.
Depends of the Spectrum Virtualize release.
According the table (Inter-system Metro Mirror and Global Mirror support)The version 8.4 (new IBM FlashSystems 5200 delivered with it) has a minimum target 7.8.1.Gen1 does not support this release.
