  • 1.  IBM SANnav zOS RACF LDAP support

    Posted 13 days ago
We have a mainframe customer that uses IBM b-Series Director class switches for their FICON SAN infrastructure.  This past year they migrated to IBM SANnav Management Portal Enterprise Edition to manage their SANs.  They have also adopted a corporate policy that requires all systems management security authentication to use LDAP.

The mainframe team at this customer has deployed zOS RACF LDAP.  However, they have not been able to configure SANnav to use RACF LDAP.  They are requesting the following:

    SANnav LDAP support to include:

    • z/OS 2.4 and use the included LDAP server  (A.K.A. RACF LDAP)
    • support  RACF LDAP   for authentication of both user ID and Groups
    • specially  database SDBM GLDBSD31 SDBM-0001

How can we accommodate this customer

What is the process to submit a Request For Enhancement, RFE, for SANnav?  Our customer would like to see IBM zOS RACF LDAP support included in SANnav.  They are asking for our assistance as they acquired the IBM rebranded version of SANnav, IBM SANnav Management Portal Enterprise Edition.

Please advise?  I've already spoken with our local Broadcom team and they have not been very helpful.

It's just oem software, developed by Brocade (Broadcom company) and as you mentioned rebranded by IBM. Also other vendors sell same software with their name like hpe, dell etc.  As far as i know IBM or any other oem sellers is not involved the development process or future enhancements. Ask local IBM team.
