I do not recommend using it even if it is supported and cheaper at first glance.
it only has disadvantages
finding fc errors or other crc fc problems is much more complicated than having a switch with real fabric
migrating to a new storage later is much more complex
Customers who used it later migrated to a fabric, so I always recommend doing it right the first time.
we have had a lot of problems with the 16/32g finisar optics in recent years.
the trancivers never really break down they produce the greatest effects, c3 discards, link loss, crc, login issues....
and in this situations is a switch a very good tool, port fancing, maps alerts .......
