IBM’s upcoming November deployment of Storage Protect for Cloud in Azure data center located in Brazil signifies a key advancement in SaaS workload coverage. This launch provides local businesses and organizations with a reliable, scalable, and highly secure backup-as-a-service platform tailored for diverse industries. By leveraging Azure’s established infrastructure and comprehensive security protocols, Storage Protect for Cloud aims to meet the specific demands of the Latin America market, including high availability, low latency, and compliance with local data regulatory requirements. This deployment will mark our seventh data center deployment. While Storage Protect for Cloud is available from any location due to the nature of SaaS, other data center locations that are available to store data include Australia, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and United States.

By reducing data transit times, Latin America enterprises and government entities can benefit from faster data processing, enabling them to quickly respond to unforeseen cyberattacks, user errors, or natural disasters. Storage Protect for Cloud protects various workloads—from collaborative tools like Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace to customer relationship management (CRM) such as Salesforce and Dynamics 365. Storage Protect for Cloud also provides IaaS and PaaS coverage for Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Blob, Azure SQL, and Azure Entra ID. The deployment addresses the critical need for data sovereignty, allowing data to be stored and processed locally. With enhanced data compliance, scalability, and robust protection, the Storage Protect for Cloud deployment in Brazil represents a pivotal step in combatting ransomware.
