  • 1.  Unable to install app on Android Devices

    Posted Wed May 17, 2023 05:15 PM

I am new to MaaS360 and having a problem with some apps that  won't install on some devices. I can see the app in the AppCatalog, but when I try to manually install from App Catalog, Google Play reports, "This app isn't available because it was made for an older version of Android."  Is there a way I can check why this is happening? Everyone has the same model of phone (Samsung S22) with all updates installed.

    Thanks.

    Hi Maurizio
Without more detail I cannot state categorically what the reason for this is.
Google works on the basis of an API level which is an application development version number that is supported for specific Android OS versions.
    See more information: https://developer.android.com/tools/releases/platforms
However based on your observations it seems like you have problems with specific devices which would need to be investigated.
If this is the case please raise a Support ticket to follow up.
    Best

It is important to understand that application vendors have a responsibility to continually update their apps to facilitate the ongoing updates to both Android and iOS operating systems.  When these vendors fail to make the necessary changes to their apps, it is not an issue caused by the device but is the result of an incompatible operating system on the device.

MaaS360 simply pushes both Android apps and iOS devices based on the configuration you set.

IF the app is not loading because it is not compatible with the version of the Android O/S on your devices, you will not be able to use the app until the vendor updates it.
