Reassigning Samsung Device after removing control

  • 1.  Reassigning Samsung Device after removing control

I need to reassign a device (Samsung) to a new employee. I've had problems in the past where a device couldn't be reenrolled, and I want to make sure I am following the correct steps.  I used the Remove Control function and the device wiped as expected. The device is now listed as inactive. Should I delete the device record before reenrolling? Delete the prior user record? Any other steps?

    Thanks.

    Hello Maurizio,

First I would like to point out that you could have change the ownership to corporate SHARED on the view device screen. You can then log out the current user on the device in the MaaS360 app and then either log in with another user on the device or assign a new user to the device through MaaS360.

As you have already removed control and the device has factory reset it should actually disappear from the Inventory (so its inactive). You do not have to delete it, as you would loose all the audit history. You can just re-enroll it with a new user then.
