  • 1.  Factory default settings after contract is expired

    Posted Thu March 04, 2021 12:57 PM
    Hello everyone,

Our customer's Maas360 service contract has expired. I'm interested in how they can now reset the factory default settings on devices where the Maas360 client is still active.

    Thanks in advance!

Devices may be reset individually in the device action menu with the "Wipe" command or they can be wiped in bulk by being placed in a group together, designating the group in the Compliance Rules "Group Based Rules" and setting the resulting action to "Wipe Device"

    Hi Matt,

Unfortunately the customer no longer has access to the maas360 portal.
When they login this message appears: Your trial period or contract has expired and account has been disabled. Please contact our customer representative or contact support for assistance.

    Any idea?

They can each out to an account executive on the MaaS360 side if they purchased direct from IBM, or the partner reseller, and inquire about having the portal re-activated for a period of time in order to remove management from these devices.  If they are unable to do so, or the portal has been expired for so long that it has been deleted, they will need to refer to the device manufacturer/OS documentation for instructions on manually performing factory resets, as methods vary.  If the devices are up and running, and policy does not restrict the action, performing a factory reset from the settings menu should suffice.
