IBM Champion Spotlight: Mitch Lauer

By Namitha K posted Sun May 19, 2024 05:51 AM

Meet Mitch Lauer, an IBM Champion for four years, who has been demonstrating a deep commitment to the technology community. With a focus on Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) solutions, Mitch has become a prominent figure in the IBM Tech Community. Currently he is working as a Sr. Management Consultant-Sales and Technology at ConnecTel Wireless. The driving force behind Mitch's dedication to the technology community is his passion for helping organisations leverage MDM/UEM solutions effectively. He says;

“Because I have been directly focused in the MDM/UEM world for almost 15 years, I have learned that most organisations who have deployed an MDM/UEM solution have little or no desire to stay up to date on technology related changes and modifications to any given solution.  IBM is excellent at communicating these changes as well as responding to issues that arise with any customer using MaaS360.  As an advocate for this solution, becoming an IBM Champion has afforded me the ability to be knowledgeable and accountable when assisting MaaS360 customers in the Tech Exchange community as well as any customer who has deployed the solution”

Mitch, with a formidable background in show business, has seamlessly transitioned these skills into the business world, making every day feel like a fresh performance. His expertise lies in sales, management, and business development, with a diverse range of experience across various verticals. He ensures that every interaction with his team and customers is both enjoyable and productive. Mitch's favorite IBM product is MaaS360, which he praises for its exceptional performance and support resources in the MDM/UEM Vertical space. Mitch appreciates the value of advocacy in various forms, with speaking and community engagement being among his favorites.

In addition to his Enterprise Sales Skills, Mitch has honed his abilities in hiring and managing sales teams, serving as a member of the Executive Management team at several organisations, and building and maintaining strong channel partner relationships. Among his most notable achievements is the development and management of an extensive strategic partnership with Verizon Wireless, which spans across all their regions and their headquarters, boasting over 1500 active contacts.

His skillset encompasses Mobile Workforce and Mobile Process Automation, B2E, B2C mobile app workflows, UX, Analytics, and Mobile Application Life Cycle Management. He is also proficient in contract negotiation, defining disciplined sales processes (Sandler/Customer Centric/Spin), and understanding global compliance legislation such as SOX, HIPAA, BASEL, FINRA, Graham Leach Bliley, FRCP, SEC. Utilizing Salesforce CRM, Marketo, and Inside View, Mitch excels in channel management, creativity, and public speaking/presentations. His unique blend of skills and experiences makes him an invaluable asset to any organisation seeking to navigate the complex landscape of mobile technology and regulatory compliance.

One of Mitch's most significant accomplishments is working with a partner to deploy MaaS360 in Behavioural Health facilities across America. He works directly with a partner who has a solution used to treat and monitor failed suicide victims, “We are literally saving lives with MaaS360”. This solution has made a tangible impact, saving lives and demonstrating the power of MDM/UEM technologies.

Despite his success in technology, Mitch admits that if he weren't working in this field, he would pursue a career in show business. Mitch's enthusiasm, expertise, and dedication to the technology community make him a valuable asset to both IBM and its customers.
