Meet Wendy Zemba who is a Data Protection Delivery Services Engineer at Converge Technology Solutions (Formerly Information Insights). She has been an IBM Champion for the last 4 years and has more than 15 years’ experience in various roles in the IT industry. Wendy’s favourite IBM product is IBM Guardium Data Protection and she says, “it’s the best-in-class technology for data protection which is my area of expertise”.
Wendy is passionate about building community engagements to help members to achieve professional success, and her success story is inspiring for a lot of people in the domain - “Making a change from a practitioner to a consultant was a dream I didn’t think would be possible. It’s a highly competitive space that used to require a significant amount of travel. Being a mother, regular travel isn’t something that I would consider. But COVID changed that landscape, so I took the opportunity and put myself out there. I was told that I was too soft spoken to survive the consulting world, but I fought that stigma and several years later, I’m thriving!”
Wendy is so passionate about the technology world that she can’t think of another “job” that she would rather have. She says, “My hobby is restoring antique furniture, so that would be the only other thing I would think of doing. 😊”
