Hi everyone, we are excited to announce that QRadar 7.4.1 images for IBM Cloud are now available! These are the first QRadar images for IBM Cloud, and our release will include continuous updates.
About this release
This marks our first release of QRadar images for IBM Cloud deployments, with more continuous updates to come. These images can be used to extend QRadar deployments, and collect data natively from your IBM Cloud services.  These images have been highly requested by our customers and partners, and we are thankful for the continued feedback we receive.
Release highlights
Support for deploying QRadar appliances in IBM Cloud
  • Currently, our images support IBM Cloud Classic Infrastructure, and we have plans to support the new VPC Infrastructure in the future. To learn more about the differences between IBM Cloud Classic vs VPC infrastructure, here's a good comparison doc.
  • These new QRadar images support all regions that IBM Cloud supports. You can find the latest supported regions here
  • Support for public IP deployments, with plans to support private IP deployments in the next release.
Support for dynamic disk provisioning
Previously, our QRadar images came with two disks: a 100 GB OS disk and 1 TB data disk. From our conversations with customers, we've heard that some want less than 1 TB, while others want more. With this release, we provide that flexibility.
The 7.4.1 images now come with:
  • A 98 GB OS disk
  • A data disk that will be added by the customer during provisioning
  • We've included setup scripts that will detect the added disk, and take care of the rest (such as disk checks, disk setup and partitioning, and data restoration). Afterwards, the regular QRadar setup will proceed. This new process removes the lengthy and error-prone manual instructions/work needed for LVM disk expansions. With these new changes, we've updated our documentation and guidance. It's important to note that the flow has changed, specifically with the need to add the second disk during initial provisioning.
