The latest release of IBM Security Secret Server (On-Premises & SaaS) is officially available, enabling security and IT ops teams to gain even tighter control and visibility of privileged access. Important new features include remote session management, web session recording, support for remote desktop protocol, event pipelines and added language support. These enhancements help tighten administrative control so you can focus on what’s really important and lower your risk.

Remote Session Management

New remote connection capabilities provide a unified environment to manage and interact with multiple remote sessions for both Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) and SSH. Credentials, session recording, multifactor authentication and secrets access workflows can now be accessed in a single location.

  • Launch and configure sessions across multiple environments
  • Credentials automatically injected into sessions as needed
  • Access a single interface to manage and interact with sessions
  • Create an end to end record of privileged user access
  • Provide an audit trail to demonstrate compliance

*SaaS customers will need to purchase on-premises entitlement for this feature

Web Session Recording

Session recording capabilities have now been extended to include any web-based user interface. You can easily record web sessions in SaaS platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Office365, as well as business applications such as ADP and Salesforce. This allows you to maintain an end to end record of a user’s privileged access and provides a full audit trail. Web session recording captures only activities related to privileged sessions and not personal applications open in a web browser.

  • Record privileged sessions when accessing web services
  • Records only those tabs related to the privileged session
  • Requires latest web browser extensions
  • Supports: Chrome, Firefox, Edge (Chromium), Opera

Support for Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP)

IBM Secret Server now includes an RDP proxy that facilitates third-party session management tools without exposing connection credentials. RDP proxy also enables optional keystroke recording for an RDP session without the need for the advanced session recording agent.

  • Launch session without ever passing credentials to the user’s computer

Event Pipelines

IT teams receive all types of alerts they must address with manual and often repetitive actions. Event Pipelines allow customers to set up a series of privileged security actions for pre-determined trigger events. The IT team can now address common issues automatically and prioritize alerts that need detailed investigation. IBM Secret Server administrators can apply policies for triggered events to secrets, folders, or sets within folders. This provides tremendous flexibility to customize events and follow-up actions, such as running a script to automatically fill in additional details for new or updated secrets.

Added Language Support

IBM Security Secret Server On-Premises now includes additional language support for Japanese, Korean, French, German and Brazilian Portuguese.
