IBM Security Z Security

z/VM 7.3 was announced on September 13, 2022 with a planned availability date of September 16, 2020. Toleration fixes are available for zSecure Manager for RACF z/VM 2.5.1 and for zSecure for z/OS 2.4.0 and 2.5.0.

Background

IBM Security zSecure Manager for RACF z/VM helps you protect your z/VM systems. You can feed the data collected by its zSecure Collect for z/VM (CKVCOLL) component into IBM Security zSecure Admin and zSecure Audit. This allows comprehensive analysis including both z/OS and z/VM systems.
 
Relevant APARs

APAR VM66416 provides PTF UV99418 for zSecure Manager for RACF z/VM 2.5.1.
APAR OA63753 provides PTFs UJ09244 and UJ09243 for zSecure for z/OS 2.4.0 and 2.5.0, respectively.

Benefits

These fixes prevent a.o. the following:
* Message CKV157I being issued by zSecure Collect for z/VM, stating that the z/VM 7.3 release is not supported
* Failing to report the correct release number when data from a z/VM 7.3 system is processed
